Jina was born in 1975 to the famed Korean folk music family, "Hanbeagajok." Coming from such creative surroundings, Jina dived deeply into the world of creative expression through art and graduated with prestigious honors from the Fine Art Department of Dankook University. Shortly later her unique work was exhibited successfully in Korea. She then set her sights on broadening her exposure. For more than six years now, Jina has lived and painted all over China, traveling as far west as Xin Jiang province, China's north western region.
Her work encompasses a dynamic relationship between subtlety and passion, simplicity and boldness, and bears a strong heritage of the traditions of Korean watercolor. Combining that with a deep understanding of early European Renaissance portraits, and the Gongbi style of Chinese water-ink painting, Jina has brought new depth and dimension to such themes as love, longing and loss; to family and to nature and soul.
